I see wat u sayin but im not that good with the fm an va pad presets just yet so I had to work in the area I was comfortable with other wise the song would have trash. And maybe u right might have but i preferred these instruments to those, we all have sounds we treat like the favorite child my guy, these are mine.
[continued] How I "really feel", is that you could have created the same track with better sound design using filtered FM or VA pads, a sub, and some heavily reverbed and filtered banjo preset or something to make it sound unique among other Soundation tracks while still keeping the same mood and style. No hate, just explaining my view point.
The reason I criticize this for using raw gm2 sounds, is because you can easily recognize them and it takes away from the immersive experience of listening to the track for me. I can literally pick out which guitar preset you used for the melody in the beginning, and the orchestral preset like slow strings, strings, orchestral pad, etc.

They sound unedited. Even just some EQ, reverb, mild distortion, etc could have made them sound more interesting.
